Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze
The Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze is the highest type ( cru ) of Conegliano - Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG wines of the province of Treviso .
The name Cartizze comes from " gardiz or gardizze ", a local expression indicating the trellis used for drying the grapes . In fact in the area of Cartizze , the grapes are harvested late, when it shows the first signs of natural drying .
This gives the wine a concentration of aromas and flavors of unusual intensity . I
t is produced in a small area of 106 hectares around Cartizze , in the areas within the territory of San Pietro di Barbozza , an hamlet of Valdobbiadene . The Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze has a limited production and it is also considered as one of the best ever prosecco.
Cartizze become sparkling almost exclusively in the Dry version.
