Made in Italy Beer: +144% artisanal beer export in 10 years

Italian artisanal beer market does not only grow in Italy but also abroad where the export increased of +144% in 10 years. In 2016 exports were estimated around 180 million Euros registering great results also in the Countries traditionally related to beer production as Germany (+17%), Ireland (+8,1%) and Great Britain (+2%). Its success is surely related to the birth of hundreds of new micro-breweries, often run by under 35 that are really active in this sector with deep innovations as the “farm-to-table” certifications, a direct tie with the farms, new alternative distribution patterns, etc.… The new Made in Italy artisanal production is very diversified: from cannabis beer, to the Apulian artichoke beer, to the sour cherries one, the P.G.I. radicchio flavoured one, the rice one, etc. just to mention some.
